I just got an update from my mom...which includes information regarding tax deductible donations to help with his care and medications (Brien doesn't have insurance). Here it is:

Since August 8, 2008, you all graciously offered your caring support and prayers to my family. The strength and reflection of God's love is so great that we truly feel God's power each day and the anticipation sparkle of complete healing. Thank you, God for the great vibes from each of you.

'UPDATE' The brain stem tumor and the other brain tumors are being treated with radiation Monday through Friday, once a day for approximately 10 minutes. A chemo pill called Timador is taken each day for the cancer tumors from the neck down. (It has the least side effects of the available choices.) Multiple other prescriptions were prescribed for the biopsy surgery pain, the brain stem tumor pressure pain and optic pressure causing his equilibrium problems, double vision, foggy vision and sensitivity. Brien may need his own drugstore for the supplemental medications also needed.

2ND SURGERY FRIDAY NIGHT 8-22: Brien had another surgery in the biopsy armpit area to insert a drain pump. The apricot size cancer that was removed from his armpit left a hole that started profusely draining Wednesday. After two consultations, his surgeon had to reopen and clean the area and put in a drain pump. This was outpatient surgery so he came home with his fiancee Kathy who takes time from work to take him to St Joseph's Hospital new cancer center for daily treatments. I visit with them later in the evening unless I am to pick something up for Brien.

I have to get up early in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing to set up my positive thinking plan for the day. There's a lot more information in our heads after the past two weeks learning much more about healthy living and positive thinking. Each of your contributions are really appreciated. I try to direct Brien into a new research nugget for his thinking each day. That is a challenge because a idle mind gives rise to the impact of the hysteria that is playing continually on his life. This week Brien asked me to get him a eye doctor appointment for glasses so that he could see again and not fall down or get headaches from squinting so much. In the interim until the pressure is reduced not much can be done. However, I did purchase a eye patch so that he can alternate the squinting and look like a dashing pirate. That helps reduce some of the continual eye strain.

This week I set up a benevolent bank account at Washington Mutual Bank, Orange Katella Financial Center 918, 1344 N Tustin Avenue, Orange, CA 92867. In the name of Brien Dinsmore for philanthropic love contributions to receive your donation assistance for his financial distress. Please direct your pledge messages for Brien to our 24 hour message/fax center at: 714-633-8083.

Next weekend in Los Angeles at Universal Studios there a Cancer Forum and Trade Show will be held. More exciting resources to investigate!!!!

Our hearts and minds are critically vulnerable. We request your continued prayer support. You are blessed and loved by God. Smiles, Rita.

And I just want to say thank you to all of you for your support and being there when I need it. I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful, beautiful caring people in my life. I would much more of a mess without you all. I do love that my mom got him an eye patch. Brien...the dreaded pirate!

If you can help out financially, it would be wonderful. If not, your love and support is what is really important.

My pirate name is:

Red Grace Bonney

Passion is a big part of your life, which makes sense for a pirate. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

You are The Wheel of Fortune

Good fortune and happiness but sometimes a species of
intoxication with success

The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. You are lucky in all things that you do and happy with the things that come to you. Be careful that success does not go to your head however. Sometimes luck can change.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

You scored as Rita Hayworth. You're the one who has the most fun. People are attracted to you because you don't pretend to be anything but what you are. You know you are attractive and like to play on that - which makes you even sexier. However, when it calls for you to be serious, like Rita, you need to know that only hard work will get success.

The questions were pretty hard. I have not idea what I got right or wrong. I would like to know, but that is OK. I still didn't do as bad as I though. ; )

Barney and I just got a new car on Wednesday. It is awesome!!! It is this beautiful black 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid. I just had to share the super coolness of our new car and my mom who is making it possible. OK...I did get the 0% APR all on my own, but Mom is helping us with the payments so we can afford it.

I just received the job offer from the Chronicle!!!!

It is for the pay I want and I am so excited. So, of course, the start date is still a problem. They want me to start on July 17th. I'm supposed to be training my replacement at my current job on July 24-Aug. 3.

I called the Chronicle to see if they would be willing to work with on the start date. At first it didn't seem like it would work, but I explained what I need to do here. We have come up with a compromise. I start there on the 17th and work that week. Then I work part-time for the next two weeks. After that, I would be full time at the Chronicle.

I spoke to my boss briefly abut the situation. He didn't have time to go in to detail about everything, but he does think that we can work this out.

All I have to say is........Holy s**t!! I have a career!!!!!

Current Mood: shocked shocked

I got a call yesterday from a lady in the HR Dept. at the Chronicle. She wanted to let me know that they are interested in me for the Revenue Accountant position. She needed to get my salary requirement and references.

One step closer.....*fingers crossed*

Current Mood: hopeful hopeful

The interview at the Chronicle went very well. I talked with the manager of the department, Ken, and the person right below him that would be training the person they hire, Norma. They both liked me. Norma really liked me. I think they might offer me the job.

Here is the problem: They need someone to start July 1st. I need to be at my current job until, at least ,July 31st.

I told them that I would talk with my current employer and find out when I can leave. So just have to see.

Ken was telling me that I need to think of myself and do what is best for me. It seemed like he wants me to leave my job earlier than I can. The more I thinking about it...I can't do that to my current employer.
Talk about burning a bridge. That would totally do it.

Current Mood: contemplative contemplative

I applied for a Revenue Accounant position at SF Cronicle that I saw on craigslist back in May. They called me back today and I have an interview tomorrow.

I hope it goes well. This is the first interview that I am really excited about. They are offering the money I want and it is blocks away from my house. Talk about a great commute!

Yesterday my boss told me that he is going to closed this office and move everything to our Maryland office. I have honestly been waiting to find out when he was going to do this. Currently, I am the only full time employee in the Oakland office. So it makes sense. He has offered and would love it if I would move with the company. I don't want to do that.

The only reason he told me yesterday is because he knows of a job opportunity for me and they need someone now. Our CPA has highly recommended me to one of his clients. They needs someone to handle their AR (Accounts Receivable). I'm really not sure if I want to take just an AR job. I don't mind it. I just think I will probably get bored if that is all I am doing. Oh, yeah...and the company is in San Leandro. It is bart-able, but it would be a longer commute than I have now. Don't think I am going to take that job.

The nice things is my boss said that he will support me until I find a job, even if I don't take the one he discovered for me. So I have started getting my resume together. I've already contact a few people to let them know that I am looking for something new. Gotta get the resume completed and get it out.

Maybe I can actually work in the same city that I live in. That would be awesome. I know, I know...I'm just talking crazy talk here, but it could happen.
